Colonel Ted Hengst (U.S. Army, retired) is the principal at PTH Ventures, LLC, a firm that provides consulting services to improve the growth and operations excellence of small- to mid-tier businesses. He joined the board of Speedcast Government (formerly UltiSat) as a proxy holder and chairperson of the finance and audit committee.  

Previously, Hengst served as president and CEO of Artel, LLC, a leading global provider of satellite and terrestrial network communications and infrastructure, as well as cyber and IT solutions. Before joining Artel in December 2012, Hengst served as the corporate vice president and CIO of Harris Corporation. He has also held the role of president of Harris IT Services, leading all aspects of the nearly $1 billion organization to shape growth strategies and advance innovation in the global delivery of secure, mission-enabling IT solutions. Before joining Harris IT Services, Hengst served as senior vice president, Army Solutions, for General Dynamics. 

Hengst served in the U.S. Army, retiring with the rank of colonel in 2002. His last assignment was as CIO and J6 at U.S. Special Operations Command at MacDill Air Force Base in Florida. Hengst earned a Bachelor of Science degree in engineering from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point and a Master of Science degree in management information systems from the Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California.
